Meter

What is a meter? the rhythmic patterns of lines in a verse
Example:
Solongasmencanbreathe,oreyescansee,
Solonglivesthis,andthisgiveslifetothee

Why do we need this: it makes the poetry more interesting to read

Rhyme

What is this?  Poetic words ending in the same sound
Example: Cold Fold
Why do we need this? It makes it more interesting and exciting to read

Rhythm

What is a rhythm: the beat of the poem.
Example: the highs and lows in the poem
Why do we have this: It adds demension to the otherwise flat poems.

Metaphor

Whats a metaphor? A figure of language comparing to unalike thing without using like or as.
Example: She was a fireball, sprinting ferociously though the feild.
Why do we need this? It adds detail to the descriptions of things.

Repitition

What is repitition: In poetry where you say the same thing multiple times usually in the same space of different stanzas.
Example: Roses are red
                  Violets are blue
                  This is the place
                 Where i love you

               Wether the sky be grey
               or sky be blue
              This is the place
               where i love you.

Why do we need this? It helps add depth to our poetry.

Tone

What is tone? the way something is spoken
Example: differnt rhythms.
Why do we need this?: It helps us have a better idea of emotion in poems.

Interpretation

What is this? The way you can figure out what a term or thing means.
Example: The sky was like a cloud of smoke. means: the sky was grey and gloomy.
Why do we need this? Without interpreting, we may not know what the point that is trying to get across is.
